Welcome to my "Iraqi Adventure" Web Site!

This Site had not been updated in a while - but, we're BACK!

Our Internet connection was down and so I was unable to post any updates.  The Internet connection is almost solved and so I've added a few more pictures as my Iraqi Adventure continues!

If this your first visit, Welcome!  If you're a returning visitor, then Welcome back!

As I enter my 10th month of being in Iraq, I have to reflect on my time here.  I've had a great time working around Iraq; Tall 'Afar, Tallil and now Tikrit.  I've worked with some really good people and I've met a lot of good Soldiers.

But now as my one year approaches in November one has to ask, "How do you know when you've been in Iraq too long?

Thanks to the people over at 106th Finance Company for coming up with
"You've been in Iraq too long if . . .

  1. You loose track of the month and the year!
  2. Sand in the food tastes like seasoning!
  3. You hope for a cool day of 110◦
  4. Kuwait sounds like a Vacation Spot!
  5. You comprehend Arabic TV!
  6. You can tell time by using a Sun-Dial!
  7. You start sending “Care-Packages” to the US!
  8. You understand   נּ צּ תּ
  9. All your friends names are “Mohammed,” “Ahmed” and “Hussein!”
  10. When asked where you’re from, you answer “Tikrit!”
  11. When good eating is at the “Big Chow Hall!”
  12. You celebrate June 28th as Independence Day!
  13. You’re always busy!
  14. You never have to dry off – ever!

For you "First-Time" visitors, my site is divided into 6 categories of pictures.  The first section is the beginning of my Iraqi Adventure which started at Ft. Bliss' CRC In-processing.
Followed by my first assignment in Tall 'Afar.  I then moved to my second assignment in Tallil and now, I'm here in Tikrit
I also have a section of Sammy's pictures while he was here in Iraq (Sammy is my Son, we both worked for the same company)  He recently got reassigned to Heidelberg, Germany.
Finally, I have a section of pictures on Iraq and the surrounding area.   You can click directly on the links above or use the Navigational Bar on the left to get around - Hope you enjoy your visit!

Enjoy your visit and check back soon for more updates!

Our "Iraqi Adventure" started On November 30, 2003 and  took the path through Ft. Bliss, in El Paso, Texas.  After spending 7 days processing through the "Combat Readiness Center" (CRC), we finally headed overseas to the Middle East.

Stopping briefly in Czech Republic to refuel, our flight finally made it to our layover stop - Kuwait.

After spending two days in "Tent City", Kuwait, we headed out to Baghdad, Iraq.  We received our assignments and moved out to our final destinations in Iraq.
Sammy started off in Baghdad but soon moved out to Tikrit and I started off in Tall 'Afar but soon moved South to Tallil and now I'm back up  North in Tikrit!.
On the map of Iraq above, you'll see TIKRIT just North of Baghdad.

I've put a few pictures here to share with my family and friends.  Hope you enjoy them!
